3 Steps to enrolling students under 18 years old

1. Applying and getting approval from your school:

Students going into 8th grade or lower need to fill out the paper Dual Enrollment Application and Dual Enrollment Approval Form. (Just click the blue text in the last sentence and print.)

Students going into 9th grade or higher next year must use the Online Application process at www.sbcc.edu and fill out the paper Dual Enrollment Approval Form. (Just click the blue text in the last sentence and print.) Please note that students entering 9th grade will need counselor or administrator signatures from their junior high AND high school.

Submit your paperwork to the SBCC Admissions & Records desk in the Student Services building at SBCC. The Dual Enrollment Approval Form is the form that needs to be signed by someone at the school where the student will attend next year.  Mom or Dad can sign for a home-schooler.  Be sure to enter “Summer Jazz Seminar MUS132A,” Summer Jazz Seminar MUS132B” and “Summer Jazz Seminar MUS133" and "Music 179" and "1 unit" on the Course Selection part of the dual enrollment approval form.

You will have to wait 24 to 48 hours before you can go on to step 2, registration.

2. Register for the Summer Jazz Seminar:

You can do this in the Student Services building at SBCC too.  However, to avoid lines, you may want to do this part online. (A word of warning, due to privacy laws parents cannot sign the forms for their students; a bit ridiculous, but I found out the hard way that my student would have to sign it. I walked outside to the car where my son was "waiting" and signed the form.)

Go to http://pipeline.sbcc.edu

Click on Find My Username in the upper left corner to get started logging into pipeline.

Make sure you are registering for Summer II. (If Summer I or Fall is selected you will receive a message that "these CRN's don't exist.)

Register for CRN# 80674 first. If that doesn't work try 80473, 80052, or 80172.

3.  Pay the registration fees within 24 hrs of registration.

Pay by credit card online at http://pipeline.sbcc.edu.

Unit fees are waive for jr. high and senior high students. Here are this summer's fees:

Trans $29.00, Health $19, Student rep fee $1, Total fees = $49.00

Parking is $18.25 online. (Optional)

That’s it!  Now you just need to be in DM105 on July 1st.  You won’t need your instrument until Tuesday, July 2nd.  You can see a map to DM105 by clicking here.

If your student wants a bus pass, they will need to go back to the admissions office to have their picture taken for an SBCC student ID. It is a good idea to have their SBCC K# handy so they can process you quickly. You can get their K# from http://pipeline.sbcc.edu after they have registered.

We are looking forward to playing music with you!
